Gardening as a Family

We love having a garden and I love teaching the boys about the importance of planting and growing seeds. The boys LOVE getting dirty, watching things grow and then eating what they plant. We have a little patch of garden that we planted this year and hope to get something out of. We planted last year and didn't get a thing. Lots grew, but someone or something else ate everything before we could get to it. This year we are going to put a fence around it. Until then, the chickens are off-limits and will have to stay in their coop.

His little fingers are so cute poking the seeds into the ground
Jack decided he didn't want to follow directions and plant in the shape of his initials so he planted his seeds in an "abstract" formation.
Way to get in there Charlie, bare feet and all...

More Easter Pics

We participated in an Easter egg hint at the church and then a small one at my friend Bridgets church. Jack was not limited to the number of eggs he could get so he went all out. Adam didn't help him at all, but he found 45 eggs and won the prize for the most eggs found. He was pretty pleased with himself about that.

Playing on the playground before the hunt
We dyed eggs with the Hodnets and I bought an egg spinner so we could make spinner eggs. They turned out really pretty and yummy- especially our cheap cheap eggs.

When I was little my parents always hid our Easter baskets on Sunday morning and we had to search the house for them. Maybe since I was the oldest, but mine were always hidden in the hardest places. They would take me forever to find. Jack got tired of looking and frustrated and needed some extra hints to find his in the oven. We had a little talk about never giving up and keep on trying even if something is hard, but I'm a little worried about the triathlon coming up...
Charlie opening his spoils. All he cares about is the candy and they went to church sufficiently sugared up to drive their primary teachers crazy!! (that would include me:)

March boating

In March, we hit some days with 80 degree weather and decided to take the boat out and test Adam's new fish finder.

Our cell phones have not been taking good pics- time for a new camera since we lost ours last trip out to Utah... I love this one of Jack though- he just looks soo happy!

Our best friends and new neighbors the Hodnetts. Jaxon, Annamarie, Porter, and Alexander and a new friend on the way for baby Lilly.

This is Jacks best friend Annamarie. After they chose to pose this way, her little brother Porter became upset and said, "Now Annamarie won't marry me, she's going to marry Jackson because he gave her flowers!"
