The Greys River

All growing up, we would go to the Greys River every first full week in August. Grandma B would cook up 5 batches of chocolate chip cookies and lots of other goodies for camping fun. The smores by the campfire, time to talk and get to know cousins, and a stove covered with trout, I have so many great memories of our large family get togethers. Its been a few years, Grandma and Grandpa aren't able to come anymore, we weren't able to get our exact campsite we used to get, but this year we returned to the Greys.

Last summer we were all pregnant and this year we have beautiful babies!! Shanna and Josh, Jessica and Camden and Me and Charlie.

Happy Wedding to Us-again...

While we were looking for my levi quilt I pieced together like 5 years ago, we found two very large boxes marked, "Becky's Wedding Presents." We opened them up and found some goodies that didn't fit into our one bedroom apartments. We found a crock pot, cutting board, tea kettle, stone fountain, bowls, cups, I think everyone should save some of their wedding presents to open up 6 years later.

So today is our 6 year anniversary. Time has gone by fast. We had date night last night and are going to cherry hill tomorrow but today we went to the Masters Team party at the rec center. Yup, we know how to party...

The Curtain's Closed

Adam's show, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is over and what a great experience! Adam had so much fun breaking out his dance shoes again. Jack loved seeing his Daddy perform and wants to be a little Potiphar. The whole experience was a lot of work and time away from family as they began rehearsals in March and ended up extending the run to the end of July. So Adam is ready to be done, but I think he has caught the theatre bug and will be back again soon...

My baby turned one! We had Charlie's first birthday party and enjoyed some good visits with friends and family. Jack insisted that we make Charlie a "Land Before Time" cake. I searched on the internet for cakes and looked up how much they cost at Albertsons and Dicks. They were about $40/ I also looked at buying Land Before time figuirines on ebay and paying to ship them overnight... In the end I decided to just paint the cake with different colors of icing and put some plastic dinosaurs on top. It was plenty for Jack and he thought it was great. He was plenty happy. Sometimes I think we Moms think that we have to do all these things and make elaborate plans and parties, but kids are just as happy with colored frosting and a cupcake.

I also noticed how different I was with this first birthday than with Jack's. On Jack's first birthday, I made him a sugar-free cake out of raisins, carrots, and wheat-germ. We limited guests so as not to overwhelm our sweet sweet. This year, we threw all that out the window and said, "Bring on the chocolate cake and ice cream and let's party!"
